Pending Deposits
Pending Deposits let you send money to anyone—even if they haven't signed up yet. The money waits securely until the recipient joins Dripelo and verifies their identity.
How It Works
- Send: You send money to a social handle, phone number, or email
- Hold: The money is set aside securely for that recipient
- Notify: The recipient is notified with a claim link
- Claim: They sign up, verify their identity, and the money lands in their account
Why Use Pending Deposits?
- No account details needed: Send using @handles, phone numbers, or emails
- Recipients don't need Dripelo yet: The money waits until they sign up
- Safeguarded: Funds are held securely while they wait
- Cancellable: The sender can cancel before the money is claimed
Lifecycle
Pending
After you send:
- The money is reserved for the recipient
- You can view status in Activity
- You can cancel and get it back (before it's claimed)
Claimed
When the recipient signs up and verifies their identity:
- The money lands in their account automatically
Expiration and Reclaim
| Timeframe | Who Can Act | Action |
|---|---|---|
| After 325 days | Sender | Cancel the deposit and reclaim funds |
| After 365 days | Dripelo | May recover unclaimed funds |
| After 365 days of inactivity | Dripelo | May reclaim an inactive username |
| Days 325–365 | Both | Sender can cancel; Dripelo can recover if unclaimed |
INFO
This only applies to money still waiting to be claimed. Once claimed, funds sit safely in the recipient's passkey-secured Dripelo account.
Identity Verification
Recipients must verify they own the handle, phone number, or email you sent to:
- Social handles: Connect their X, Telegram, or Discord account
- Phone: Verify via SMS code
- Email: Verify via email link
Only the verified owner can claim the money. Identifiers are stored as secure hashes so only the true owner can prove ownership.
Security
- Safeguarded funds: The money is held securely while it waits
- Identity-bound: Only the verified recipient can claim
- Privacy: Recipient identifiers are hashed
- You stay in control: The sender can cancel anytime before a claim
Fees
Pending Deposits are completely free:
- Sending: Free
- Claiming: Free
- Reclaiming: Free
- No hidden fees
